Biography

Rema Menon Vellat is the Founder and Director of Counselling Point Training and development, the first educational advising and counselling centre of its kind in the UAE. She holds a Masters degree in Medical and Psychiatric Social work from Stella Maris College and a Bachelor of Science degree  from Women’s Christian college, Chennai, both affiliated to Madras university. She has over three decades of professional work experience in the areas of education, career counselling and child welfare. Her center is recognized by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the Dubai Economic Department. Counselling Point is a small counselling center with a big vision.

For over two decades, Menon has been working in the areas of personal and career Counselling in Dubai. She began her career in the UAE in 1998 as a Counsellor at the Indian High School, Dubai, one of the largest not-for-profit schools in Dubai and gained valuable experience working with students from grades 5 to 12. She has also worked as a private Consultant and Education Adviser before setting up Counselling Point. Menon founded Counselling Point in 2005. She has a student-centric approach and works with not only under-graduates and graduates, but also working professionals seeking career transitions. The students placed by Menon are now pursuing higher education or working in institutions in USA, Canada, UK, Singapore, Netherlands, Malaysia, India and Australia.
